ਸਰੀ ( ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰ ਬਿ)–ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਸਰਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਫਲਾਈਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਣਹੋਂਦ ਕਾਰਣ ਭਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਗਰ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਫਲਾਈਟਾਂ ਹਨ ਵੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੱਕ ਹਨ ਜਿਥੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਗਪਗ 8-9 ਘੰਟੇ ਦਾ ਸਫਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁੱਜਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡਿਆਂ ਉਪਰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਖੱਜਲ ਖੁਆਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਰਵਾਸੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਤੋ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਜਾਂ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ ਲਈ ਫਲਾਈਟਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਏਅਰ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਅਸੀਮਤ ਫਲਾਈਟਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਏਅਰਪੋਰਟ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਦੇਸ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੇਜਾ ਫੂਡਜ਼ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵੀ ਤਰਸੇਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੈਂਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੈਂਗਲੀ- ਕਲੋਵਰਡੇਲ ਤੋ ਲਿਬਰਲ ਐਮ ਪੀ ਜੌਹਨ ਐਲਡਗ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਤੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਲਈ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਫਲਾਈਟਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਉਠਾਉਣ। ਇਸਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੰਸਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਐਮ ਪੀਜ਼ ਵਲੋ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਫਲਾਈਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਰੱਖੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਲੋੜ ਹੈ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਐਮ ਪੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੋ ਉਪਰ ਉਠਕੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲਾਬਿੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਸੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਮੰਗ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਐਮ ਪੀ ਜੌਹਨ ਐਲਡਗ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਲਦ ਹੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਖਣਗੇ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਵੀ ਉਠਾਉਣਗੇ।
Insisting direct flights from Canada to Amritsar
Surrey –Every year in winter, a large number of Punjabis who go to India have to face huge problems due to the absence of direct flights. Even if there are direct flights, they are only up to the capital Delhi from where they have to travel for about 8-9 hours to reach Punjab.
Migrant Punjabis have long been demanding to start flights from Canada to Amritsar . In the past, there has been an agreement between Air Canada and India for unlimited flights, but there is no mention of any airport in Punjab. Giving information in this regard to Des Prades, Director of Teja Foods and social activist Tarsem Singh Bains said he met and requested to Liberal MP John Aldog from Langley-Cloverdale for direct flights from Canada to Amritsar International Airport in Punjab. Prior to this, the demand for direct flights has also been made jointly by the Conservative MPs. It is necessary for all the MPs who take the votes of Punjabis to rise above the party level and lobbing for this and fulfill this demand of the migrant Punjabis. He said that MP John Aldog has assured him that he will soon write a letter to the government in this regard and will also raise this matter in Parliament.
