ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਲੈਕੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਜਿਤਾਈ-
ਸਰੀ-ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਸਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਪਰੀਆਂ ਲੁੱਟ ਖੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਭੈਅ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਬਰਾਂ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਬੀ.ਸੀ. ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਆਗੂ, ਜੌਨ ਰਸਟੈਡ ਅਤੇ ਐਬਟਸਫੋਰਡ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਬਰੂਸ ਬੈਨਮੈਨ ਨੇ ਸਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਹੰਗਾਮੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ। ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰੌਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਨ-ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੁੱਟਾਂ-ਖੋਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਜੌਹਨ ਰੁਸਟੈਡ ਨੇ ਮੇਅਰ ਬਰੈਂਡਾ ਲਾਕ ਨਾਲ ਟੈਲੀਫੋਨ ‘ਤੇ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਲੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਦੋਵਾਂ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਡੇਵਿਡ ਈਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੀ ਸੀ ਐਨਡੀਪੀ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਣ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਤਜਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜੌਹਨ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੀਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਐਨ ਡੀ ਪੀ ਦੀ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਨਰਮ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨੂੰ ਛਡਦਿਆਂ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਖਾਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਗੈਰ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਨੂੰਨੀ ਚਾਰਾਜੋਈ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਬੀ.ਸੀ. ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਕਾਲਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
BC Conservative hold a meeting with Businessmen of Surrey-
Surrey-BC Conservative Leader , John Rustad and MLA from Abbotsford, Bruce Banman held a meeting with Businessmen of Surrey who feel threatened with the deteriorating law and order situation in the city . Businessmen shared their tales of horror on Monday of how they have been receiving ransom letters and day light firing and robberies are on the rise .
On Tuesday John Rustad had a telephonic talk with Mayor Brenda Locke and he apprised her of the fear prevailing among the businesses of Surrey . Both the leaders shared their concern that Premier David Eby and the BC NDP have created chaos and driven experienced officers out of the city with his authoritarian bullying approach .
John feels that BC needs to get away from NDP’s soft on crime approach and criminals need to be thrown behind the bars .
“Entrepreneurs come to BC for safety and opportunity. We should deport and jail the criminals who harass them , especially if they are not Canadians “, John stressed . He also assured that the BC Conservative party will always stand for the safety and security of the residents and will continue to speak for toughening the laws for the criminals .
