Progressive Peoples Foundation of Edmonton condoles demise of Dr Surjit Patar

Edmonton-It has been a shocking news that an eminent Punjabi poet and a man of wisdom, Dr. Surjit Patar (79), has passed away on Saturday, May 11at his residence in Ludhiana. During the last five decades his poems enjoyed immense popularity with
the public at large and had won high acclaim from critics. His famous poetic compositions include ‘Hawa Vich Likhe Harf’, ‘Birkh Arz Kare’, ‘Hanere Vich Sulagdi Varnmala’, ‘Lafzaan Di Dargah’, ‘Patjhar Di Pazeb’ and ‘Surzameen’. Patar had been to Edmonton so many times to participate in poetic  ymposiums. He rightly claimed Edmonton to be his second home.
Mourning the sudden demise of a near and dear poet, members of the Progressive Peoples Foundation of Edmonton paid rich tributes to the sweet memory of Dr. Surjit Patar —-a symbol of ‘Punjabiat’.
