ਬੀ ਸੀ ਐਨ ਡੀ ਪੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਚੋਣ ਰੈਲੀ-
ਸਰੀ ( ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰ ਬਿ)-ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਬੀ ਸੀ ਐਨ ਡੀ ਪੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਰੀ, ਸਾਉਥ ਸਰੀ ਤੇ ਰਿਚਮੰਡ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਐਨ ਡੀ ਪੀ ਦੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਐਨ ਡੀ ਪੀ ਆਗੂ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਡੇਵਿਡ ਈਬੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਆਰੀਆ ਬੈਂਕੁਇਟ ਹਾਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਇਕੱਠ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੀੜ ਦੇ ਜੋਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਨਾਅਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਡੇਵਿਡ ਈਬੀ ਨੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੀ ਸੀ ਦੇ ਆਮ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਲਈ ਟੈਕਸ ਕਟੌਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ $1,000 ਹਰ ਸਾਲ , ਅਗਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਇਸ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ, ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆ ਦੇ 90% ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਭ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਅਸਲ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਅਤਿ ਦੀ ਮਹਿੰਗਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਜ ਦਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਧੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਾਗਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਮਦਦ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧ ਸਕਣ। ਜਦੋਂਕਿ ਬੀ ਸੀ ਕੰਸਰਵੇਟਵਿ ਆਗੂ ਜੌਨ ਰਸਟੈਡ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 18 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਲਾਰਾ ਲਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਅਸੀ ਹੁਣ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਟੈਕਸ ਕਟੌਤੀ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ।
ਡੇਵਿਡ ਈਬੀ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਆਮਦਨ ਦੇ ਵਾਧੂ $10,000 ਨੂੰ ਟੈਕਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਏਗੀ। ਇਹ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ $1,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਬੀਸੀ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਲਈ $500 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦੀ ਟੈਕਸ ਕਟੌਤੀ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। 2025 ਵਿੱਚ, ਈਬੀ ਦੇ ਮਿਡਲ ਕਲਾਸ ਟੈਕਸ ਕਟੌਤੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਰੀਬੇਟ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਨਾਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇ।
ਰਸਟੈਡ ਦੀ ਸਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ, ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 2029 ਤੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲਾਭ ਲਈ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਉਲਝੀ ਹੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਲਾਭ ਘੱਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਲਈ ਲਗਭਗ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਜਦੋਂ ਜੌਨ ਰਸਟੈਡ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਉਸਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਫੀਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਰਾਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਮਤ ਅਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਰੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ PORT MANN ਪੁਲ ਤੇ ਆਉਣ-ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ $10,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਟੋਲ ਅਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਈਬੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੋਨ ਰਸਟੈਡ ਦਾ 20 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ Tax ਕਟੌਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਮੰਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
“ਰਸਟੈਡ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਖਤਰਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡੇਵਿਡ ਈਬੀ ਨੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਲਈ ਐਨ ਡੀ ਪੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਹਤਰ ਦਸਦਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ।

Eby’s middle-class tax cut vs Rustad tax scheme
Starting immediately, David Eby’s middle-class tax cut will give a benefit of more than $1,000 for the average family each year. 90% of taxpayers will benefit by increasing the Basic Personal Amount that is exempt from provincial income tax by $10,000.
This will mean that British Columbians will not pay any provincial income tax on the first $22,580 that they earn.
The BC Conservative’s tax scheme is back-loaded – and no British Columbian will see any support next year. The supposed full benefits won’t even kick in until 2029. Over the next four years, Eby’s plan delivers more help to middle-class families than Rustad’s does. In the next two years, Eby’s plan will give people more than twice the benefit.
Here’s how the two plans stack up:
David Eby’s $1,000 a year boost to 90% of families builds on the BC NDP’s record of taking action to help people with costs:
- Eliminating unfair medical premiums.By ending MSP fees, people are saving up to $1,800 a year.
- Ending bridge tolls.Taking bridge tolls of the Port Mann and Golden Ears bridges has saved people driving to and from work over $10,000 a year.
- Cutting car insurance rates.Saving drivers almost $500 a year by making sure ICBC works for people, not trial lawyers.
- Keeping BC Hydro rates affordable.Rates have been below inflation for six years in a row after they skyrocketed 80% under Rustad’s old government.
- Reducing child care bills.Cutting fees in half for most parents and delivering more $15 day spaces for working parents.
- Making prescription contraception free. People are now saving up to $300 a month and as much as $10,000 over a lifetime.
- Helping with costs.In the last two years alone, people have benefited from two affordability credits and an ICBC rebate.
- Expanding local school lunch programs.Making sure our kids are well-fed and ready to learn through historic funding in B.C.’s Feeding Future program.
