Residential Roadways Parking Ban ends by City of Edmonton

Edmonton-The residential parking ban will be lifted Friday, January 24 at 7 p.m. for all roadways in Edmonton. The parking ban was required for crews to address uneven conditions on residential roadways. Crews have left a remaining snowpack on residential roads to reduce windrows and potential drainage issues. The parking ban was in effect for 14 days, with fluctuating temperatures and additional snow events contributing to the length of the ban.

City crews continue to work 24 hours a day to address areas with rutting, additional snow accumulation and traction concerns. In total, crews maintain more than 12,000 kilometres of roadways and 500 kilometres of active pathways.

The City encourages residents to report winter road concerns through 311. This helps identify trends, coordinate responses and ensure the most efficient service delivery.

Residents can subscribe toย Service Notificationsย and receive email or text messages specific to an address. Notifications are sent when parking bans are activated and as roadways are scheduled, in progress and completed.
