Premier David Eby and Local MLAs in Attendance-

Surrey, BC — The Gujarati Society of British Columbia (GSBC) hosted its annual Navratri Garba Utsav from September 26 to 28 at the Crown Banquet Hall Palace in Surrey, bringing together hundreds of community members in a celebration of culture, music, and tradition.

This year’s festivities were made even more special with the presence of Premier David Eby, joined by MLA Garry Begg, MLA Amna Shah, and MLA Jessie Sunner. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed and honoured by GSBC leadership and members of the Gujarati community for their ongoing support and engagement.

Following the formal welcome, the Premier and MLAs joined in the spirited Garba and Raas dancing, guided by members of the GSBC and cheered on by the enthusiastic crowd. Their participation highlighted the inclusive and celebratory spirit of Navratri, one of the most cherished festivals in the Gujarati calendar.

The Gujarati Society of BC, which has proudly celebrated and preserved Gujarati culture in British Columbia for over 50 years, continues to provide a platform for cultural exchange and community connection through events like the Navratri Garba Utsav.

The event featured traditional Garba and Raas music, authentic cuisine, and colorful attire, showcasing the richness of Gujarati culture to all in attendance.
