Partnership Formed Between Surrey Board of Trade and Yoruba Social and Cultural Asso. of BC

Surrey-On June 22nd, the Surrey Board of Trade (SBOT) and Yoruba Social and Cultural Association of British Columbia (Yoruba Social and Cultural Association or The Association) formally announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a collaborative working relationship and partnership. The work will include a co-working office space at the Surrey Board of Trade, access to business support resources and support to grow the Black Business Expo in Surrey.

“Surrey is an inclusive economy and this partnership with the Yoruba Social and Cultural Association of BC will help Black Canadian business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs make important contributions to Surrey’s economy, reducing systemic barriers in starting and growing their businesses,” said Anita Huberman, President & CEO, Surrey Board of Trade. “The success of Surrey’s economy requires the full and equal participation of all Canadians.”

The Yoruba Social and Cultural Association of British Columbia, is a Black-led organization established in 1998 to cater for the needs of the minority ethnic group of Yoruba origin, living in BC. They provide, promote and foster positive social and cultural relationships.
