ਸਰੀ- ਬੀ ਸੀ ਐਨ ਡੀ ਪੀ ਨੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਐਮ ਐਲ ਏ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਸਿਮਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਾਮੀ ਸੂਬਾਈ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਰੀ-ਪੈਨੋਰਾਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਇੱਕ ਮਾਂ, ਦਾਦੀ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੀ ਸੀ ਟੀਚਰਜ਼ ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ, ਜਿੰਨੀ ਸਿਮਸ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ, ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਸਕੂਲੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਜੀਵਨ ਭਰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ, ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਚੁਣੀ ਗਈ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਛਲੀ ਸੂਬਾਈ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਲੜਾਈ ਲੜੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਅਰਥ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਪਣੀ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਸਿਮਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰੀ ਬੀ ਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਸਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ, ਸਕੂਲ ਬਣਾਉਣੇ, ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਟੋਲ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰੱਖਣਾ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਜੋਖਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈ ਸਕਦੇ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਕੰਜਸਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਜਾਂ ਬੀਸੀਯੂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਖਰਚ ਕਰੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਲੜਾਈ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗੀ ਤੇ ਬੇਹਤਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਜੀਅ ਸਕਣ।
BC NDP nominate Jinny Sims as a candidate in Surrey-Panorama
Surrey, BC —Surrounded by friends, family and supporters from across the region, Jinny Sims was officially nominated as the BC NDP’s candidate in Surrey-Panorama for this fall’s provincial election.
A mother, grandmother, teacher, and past president of the BC Teachers’ Federation, Jinny Sims is a lifelong advocate for children, families, and schools. A former MP, twice-elected MLA and past provincial cabinet minister, she has fought hard on issues that make a difference to people and families, like affordable childcare, a stronger healthcare system and building strong communities that are safe and inclusive for all.
“Surrey is the fastest growing municipality in BC, and the people who live here are facing big challenges,” said Jinny Sims. “They need a representative in government who puts people first and takes action on issues that matter here, like building the new Surrey hospital, building schools, expanding transit and keeping tolls off bridges. We can’t risk what a Conservative or BCU government would cost us all, and I’m ready to keep fighting hard everyday so people can build a good life here.”
